Serena Buscone

I believe a collaborative and efficient lab can address both educational and research needs.

Serena Buscone works as Lab Manager at the Material Incubator within Caradt’s Biobased Art and Design research group, and together with the Centre of Expertise in Energy and Material transition (TIEM).

Serena studied Biology in Milan, Italy, and worked as a researcher in the field of biomedical science in clinical labs and academia.

During her PhD she investigated the molecular pathways triggered by visible light (sunlight) in the context of hair regeneration and skin rejuvenation within Philips Research, the Netherland, and the Centre for Skin Sciences, UK, revealing the presence of light receptors in human hair follicles.

As Research Technician at the Biomedical Engineering department of TU/Eindhoven, she supported research projects in the cardiac regeneration field and was involved in the coordination of practical courses on staining techniques.

In her new role as MI Lab Manager Serena aims to foster a collaborative and efficient lab environment, addressing both the operational and educational needs.
